Forge Element Guide

A reference for the elements, fonts, and conventions used to build a faction board.

Typography

Root uses two typefaces. Decorative titles are set in Luminari; body text is set in Baskerville 10 Pro (with Bold, Italic, and Bold-Italic variants).

Decorative titles and headings.

A row of card slots at the top of the faction board like the Decree or Retinue.

Actions

When composing an action's text, the action name typically uses the "H" large text format.

Standard Action

An action that can be taken by the faction x number of times per turn.

An action that can be taken by exhausting an item.

Custom Action

A action that can be taken with some other cost. Each action can have a unique icon.

Token Track

Grid of Tokens with optional headers, dividers, and backgrounds. Can be compressed when there is not enough room (like the Sympathy track).

Building Track

Grid of Buildings or squares with optional headers, dividers, and backgrounds. Like the LotH's Hoard or the Eyrie's Roosts

Legend

A keyed list of images with labels and short descriptions. Helps players reference different pieces like the Corvid plots.

A range & result table typically used for scoring or card draw like the LotH's Oppress or Diaspora's Draw step.
